Each of the units prompts you on what to read, additional book lists, videos to watch, activities and experiments with easy-to-follow instructions and photos, and templates for activities. Complete this guide at your own pace, however you want to fit it in your schedule, there is no set time frame required. Each unit could easily be completed in 2-3 days.
Throughout the guide your child will also be completing one, or both, solar system projects. One is a moveable solar system they will be adding the planets to once they learn about them; the other is a Solar System Facts Book where they will add the artwork for each planet and an interesting fact they learned. There is a different art project for each planet using different art processes.

We are using My Place in Space for our four kids ages 4-11. It’s full of wonderful projects and makes learning fun. (And we all know that learning is optimized when it’s enjoyable!) We have added some advanced astronomy material for my oldest kids- but even so, the projects and activities from this unit are enjoyed by all ages and have enriched their studies tremendously. It’s easily adaptable and enjoyed by the big kids and little ones alike.
