We are currently using the American girl history bundle and it is so fun and engaging my daughters and I are really enjoying the stories and the fun activities that go along with them. Highly recommend this for learning American history!

My daughter and I have really enjoyed learning about American History through the American Girl books. This program created to go along with the books has been fantastic. We love the hands-on projects and kitchen recipes! Even my son enjoys listening in during his sister’s lessons and participating in the activities even though he’s in Highschool.

My daughters just love these AG unit studies…and I personally enjoy and learn from them as well! We really enjoy keeping a narration notebook and piggy back onto the next time period for each AG history study, so it all stays in one beautiful multimedia notebook. I suggest buying a high quality one. It will be a keepsake for sure.

When time allows, we do every activity listed and read the extra picture books. I read the Welcome to My World books to my daughter and have her read the chapter books to herself as part of her history/ literature lessons. These studies teach history, geography, art and crafts, and reading. Morals are taught in the chapter books as well.

We are absolutely loving this curriculum! It has been the best thing to happen to our homeschool this year. Finally my daughter is engaged in read alouds and wants to read more than the curriculum suggests. It is a gentle yet honest introduction to US history with super fun, creative, and easy to manage activities. This curriculum could be your language arts, history, art and geography in one! The only thing I would advise is preparing to have some big conversations with potentially young learners. My daughter is only 6 but very inquisitive and has handled the ugly parts of our history well but I’m not sure all young kiddos are ready for some of the challenges these girls go through.

Thank you Little School of Smiths for creating such a fantastic program!

Great way for early elementary school aged kids (girls) to learn history. I have an 8 year old and 4 year old daughter and we formed a history club with 2 other families, a total of 9 girls ages 4-13. We meet once a week and go through the crafts and reading from the “world books” and read from the chapter books on our own at home. We had fun thrifting all the world books and share what we have, a lot of the chapter books are available for audio book checkout at our library. The unit is so comprehensive, it teaches kids history from a unique viewpoint, we get craft time in, lots of handwriting practice, group speaking l/presentation opportunities. And I really like all the extra book suggestions she lays out for you in the guides, we end up checking those out too. The moms with the older girls get more advanced library books to supplement but they’re also getting a lot out of this. I highly recommend this curriculum, and if you can do it with others it’s even better, truly!

Highly recommend! I can’t recommend this guide enough! My oldest and I started this for our early American history for 1st grade and it’s seriously the best and most fun we have had with any curriculum. I love everything about this guide from the books, crafts, and recipes. It is the perfect guide to start introducing your younger ones to early American history in a fun and gentle way. I honestly look forward to it every month as well and make sure that I get to read all the American Girl books aloud so I know what happens too 🤣 this guide brings so much joy in learning and I love that we get to learn through books and have it be hands on learning with crafts and recipes. It’s everything I look for in our homeschooling especially for younger years. Can’t recommend this one enough! Everyone should be doing this for their 1st or 2nd graders.

We have used the AG history study this school year and have loved every moment of it! Each activity, lesson, and book have been so entertaining but also easy for my girls to learn from. What a great way to learn history! We will use it again in a few years when my youngest is older.

The American Girl unit bundle has everything my daughter loves- history with a creative outlet. It’s a perfect combination of reading, writing, social studies, and tons of arts & crafts. We enjoy all the hands-on learning involved as well as the book list options. Last but not least, we can’t forget to mention the SNACKS! The recipes are easy to follow and we love to eat them during our chapter readings. All in all, these unit studies are great for learning and family bonding.

My girls and I absolutely LOVE the American Girl History units! We kept the schedule to one girl a month and that pace was perfect for us. The game was also a lot of fun! I can’t wait for the next bundle release with the newer American Girls too! All of them have been wonderful along with the activities included. It keeps them engaged and excited about learning. Thanks Lindsay! I love all of your work 🙂

My girls already love reading the American Girl books, so while looking for a history curriculum, this was an easy choice. I was blown away with how engaging and fun the layout is. History is now my daughters’ favorite subjects because history comes to life for them through this curriculum. It is well planned out and very little prep on your part. There is a good variety of hands-on activities, the writing prompts help with understanding and learning, and the books are very enjoyable. This is highly recommended, and I look forward to using her other American Girls guides for more history curriculum.
